Neither of you has to trust a stranger

Most marketplaces protect one side. Buyers worry the item never arrives. Sellers worry about a buyer who says it was broken when it was not. Bothsure protects both.

  1. 1
The buyer pays BothsureNot the seller. We hold the money safely, and the seller can see it is there, so they know the buyer is real.
  2. 2
The seller sends it trackedBefore posting, the seller adds photos or a short video of the item being packed. That record protects both sides.
  3. 3
The seller is paid within 24 hoursWhen the buyer confirms, the seller is paid. If the buyer reports no problem within 24 hours of tracked delivery, the payment is released automatically.

If something is wrong, the buyer reports it within 24 hours of delivery. Both sides show their evidence: the listing, the packing photos, the tracking and photos of what arrived. A person at Bothsure looks at both sides before any money moves. Nobody wins just by complaining first.

Totals are everything the platform charges the seller and the buyer on an item with no postage, including VAT where it applies. Competitor fees as published in October 2026; they change often. Vinted and Depop publish ranges rather than exact fees, so we show their ranges: Vinted charges buyers "usually 3% to 8% + £0.30 to £0.80", and Depop charges buyers up to 5% + £1 plus 2.9% + 30p from the seller. Amazon, eBay and Etsy depend on the category; the ranges cover their cheapest to dearest main categories. Checked against each company's own fee pages in October 2026.

Questions

Questions and answers

Is Bothsure safe to use?

Yes. That is the whole idea. Your payment never goes straight to a stranger. Bothsure holds it until the item has arrived and matches its description, and only then is the seller paid.

When does the seller get paid?

At the latest 24 hours after tracking shows the item was delivered, as long as the buyer has not reported a problem. If the buyer confirms sooner, the seller is paid sooner. The money reaches the seller's bank 1 to 2 working days later.

How does Bothsure protect sellers?

On many sites a buyer can claim an item is "not as described", send back something different, and get a refund. On Bothsure, problems are decided on evidence from both sides: your listing, your packing photos and the tracking. A complaint alone is not enough.

What if my item never arrives?

The seller is not paid until tracking confirms delivery. If the item does not arrive, you get your money back, including the protection fee.

Is Bothsure cheaper than eBay and Amazon?

Yes. Add up what the seller and the buyer pay, and Bothsure is lower than eBay, Amazon and Etsy on almost every sale. A £50 item from a private seller costs £2.35 in fees on Bothsure, against about £2.70 on eBay. A £50 sale by a business costs £2.50, against £4.20 or more on Amazon, £4.83 or more on eBay and £5.84 or more on Etsy. Like Vinted, selling is free for private sellers, and on Bothsure sellers are protected too.

What can I sell?

Almost anything, new or used, as long as it is legal: clothes, phones, electronics, furniture, cars, handmade goods, shop stock and more. Weapons, drugs, stolen goods, fake branded goods and a few other items are not allowed. "Inspired by" items with no brand name or logo are welcome.

Can businesses sell on Bothsure?

Yes. Businesses pay 5% per sale with no monthly fee, and their buyers pay nothing extra. We show buyers whether they are buying from a private seller or a business.

Where is Bothsure available?

We are starting in the United Kingdom, with The Gambia and more countries to follow. Join the waiting list to hear when we open where you are.
